3 generations

of hospitality

The story of Les Lutins is as much the story of a family across three generations. Janine Clery, a native of the Pays des Écrins (La Bérade) and André Clery, a native of the Grenoble Basin, founded this institution in 1959. Visionaries for the time (some would have said “mad”), they created one of the first bar/restaurants in the middle of the Alpine pastures that would become the resort of Les 2 Alpes a couple of years later.

Les Lutins

Bar and hotel in Les Deux Alpes

With skiing really taking off, they built the Hotel Les Lutins, attached to the bar, in 1972. The bar would be run for many years by the family’s youngest, Vivi, before being taken over by her son Louison in 2014. The hotel, meanwhile, would be run by their eldest Cathy, and then by Louison and Lisa in 2020.
